FLASH90
Website redesign to streamline client workflows and present a fresh, modern visual identity for Israel’s leading news photo agency
All images in this case study were photographed by me, on assignment for Flash90.

Overview
Modernizing a client-facing platform for real-time news workflows
News photo agencies depend on speed, clarity, and easy access to large volumes of visual content. FLASH90’s website, originally built over 15 years ago, no longer reflected how clients work today. The redesign focused on simplifying the experience, removing visual noise, and creating a modern, intuitive, and responsive platform that supports fast-paced editorial workflows.
Stakeholders & Project Goals
Defining success for both the business and its users
This project involved two key stakeholder groups- FLASH90 as the business client, and its media clients: editors and journalists who rely on the platform daily. While their goals differ, the redesign needed to support both the agency’s positioning and the practical workflows of its users.

Research & Insights
Understanding client workflows and real-world use

Clients often work under tight deadlines and need to locate relevant images within seconds.

Large volumes of content require clear hierarchy and strong visual scanning cues.

Unnecessary text and secondary information slow down decision-making.

The platform is used across devices, often during breaking news situations.
User Flow Evolution
Removing an extra step from a time-critical workflow
Editors often work under tight deadlines and need to download images as quickly as possible. In the previous experience, downloading required leaving the archive and opening a dedicated image page — adding an extra step at the moment decisions needed to be fast.

Before the redesign

The previous image page required editors to leave the archive to access downloads and full image details.
